Someone Out There Needs What You Already Know
When war, unrest, or disaster strands someone far from home, the most valuable person in the world is a local who cares. As a MiaB volunteer, that person can be you.
What Volunteers Do
You know which roads are open, which neighborhoods are calm, where the queues are shortest. That knowledge is gold to someone who arrived last week.
Help someone read an official notice, talk to a landlord, or understand an announcement — in a language they don’t speak.
Advise on transportation options, services that still work, and how to get from A to B when nothing runs on schedule.
When it is safe and appropriate: a ride, a charged power bank, directions to shelter. Small acts, outsized impact.

Why It Matters
In times of crisis, access to the right information — or the right person — can change outcomes. Your contribution, no matter how small it may seem, can help someone navigate the hardest moment of their life. Even while sipping a cup of coffee at home, you could help change someone's life.
